New Jersey state Sen. Declan O’Scanlon is outraged that Rutgers University is still requiring students to provide proof of COVID vaccination to be enrolled.
What’s odd is that Rutgers is mandating the initial COVID shot, but not any boosters, leaving room for evolved strains — basically, an inconsistent policy. In an office press release O’Scanlon states, “It’s baffling to see that from what a leading voice of science-based rationality should be, comes arbitrary garbage.”
Adding to the controversy is that the federal government announced months ago that the COVID public health emergency is “over” — so why is Rutgers enforcing a mandate that is no longer relevant? “Rutgers students who don’t want to get the vaccine for whatever reason should be allowed to not get the vaccine and still attend college — that should absolutely be no business of irrational Rutgers administrators,” O’Scanlon concluded …
“Maybe the good news is that there’s so little credibility left the net result isn’t impacted that much by this ludicrous mandate.”
