With the wind-down of the pandemic, the CDC has decided to stop printing and distributing COVID-19 vaccination cards.
The CDC said the discontinuation of the cards won’t affect most people. Most venues such as festivals, concerts, bars and restaurants that had required proof of vaccination to enter or attend their events during the pandemic are no longer asking for the documentation. Plus, places that want to keep records of vaccination status, like health care providers and pharmacies, now have their own electronic records set up.
In all, the CDC shipped more than 980 million cards between late 2020 when the shot program began and May 10, 2023.
