The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued its highest alert for a recall of some chocolate and yogurt-covered snacks from Cal Yee Farm. The recall, which started in December, was upgraded due to the snacks containing undeclared allergens like almonds, milk, sesame, soy, wheat, and synthetic dye FD&C No. 6. These ingredients could cause serious or even life-threatening reactions in people with allergies or sensitivities.

Cal Yee Farm, based in Suisun Valley, California, initiated the recall after an FDA inspection found the products were mislabeled. The affected items, including various chocolate-covered nuts and mixes, were sold in stores and online across multiple states, including Arizona, California, and Texas. Fortunately, no illnesses related to the recall have been reported yet.

If you’ve bought any of the recalled snacks, you should either throw them away or return them to Cal Yee Farm for a full refund. The FDA categorizes this as a Class I recall, meaning there’s a significant risk that consuming the products could result in serious health problems or death. This action underscores the importance of accurate labeling and consumer safety.
